Brian McClean Art at Southeastern Live Well Center

Art Heals, Art Unites. Never been perfect but always try to make a difference. This is my artwork in the Southeastern Live Well Center in San Diego.

The Southeastern Live Well Center in San Diego, California has won multiple awards in 2024, including a National Award of Merit from the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA). The center also won awards from the Engineering News-Record (ENR), the American Public Works Association (APWA), and the PCBC.

The 65,000-square-foot Southeastern Live Well Center supports San Diego County’s Live Well San Diego initiative, working to enhance the health, safety, and well-being of both residents and employees.

The Live Well Center helps fulfill that vision by providing much-needed upgrades to health and community services in the Southeastern San Diego community.

The Center will serve as an accessible, convenient hub for the community and offer educational and workforce training opportunities in addition to the services traditionally provided by the County.

Available services include medical insurance coverage, food and nutrition assistance, family strengthening services, financial and employment assistance, public health, behavioral health, child support, restorative justice, services for older adults and people with disabilities, and services for veterans and members of the military.

The building incorporates a significant interior and exterior public art program with murals whose themes and imagery were developed in concert with community members. Local artists were invited to participate in shaping the creative vision for the new center.
