Brian McClean Artwork in Doha, Qatar Embassy

Thank you Art in Embassies staff, Megan Beyer, and Ambassador Davis for having my art in the Doha, Qatar Embassy! This means a lot, and I think the world could use more diplomacy and peace, especially right now.

You can view the full publication of art installed there and other artists here: https://art.state.gov/portfolio/doha-publication-2024/

My art is hanging there, along with pictures of Ocean Beach Pier, CA, and Craggy Mountain in Asheville, NC.

The Exhibition is the Pass: Lyrics and History and Nature.

“A pass is a pathway forged by great time and the unrelenting nature of water. The initiative underscores the importance of creating vital pathways for cross-cultural dialogue and fostering mutual understanding through visual arts and dynamic artist exchanges. “ - Ambassador Timmy Davis

The Museum of Modern Art first envisioned this global visual arts program in 1953, and President John F. Kennedy formalized it at the U.S. Department of State in 1963. Today, Art in Embassies is an official visual arts office within the U.S. Department of State, engaging over 20,000 participants globally, including artists, museums, galleries, universities, and private collectors.

It encompasses over 200 venues in 189 countries. Professional curators and registrars create and ship about 60 exhibitions per year, and since 2000, over 70 permanent collections have been installed in the Department’s diplomatic facilities throughout the world.
