International Integrative Health Day

Today is International Integrative Health Day. This is a reminder to practice self-care holistically. I decided to journal, meditate, edit some artistic pictures, work out, eat well, finish my Healing Arts certificate with the University of Florida, and research ways to improve my health.

I also connected with someone on a LinkedIn Audio session who gave me tips on emotional, spiritual, and physical health (particularly the gut). I also want to advocate for Arts in Health, which is what I focus on every single day one way or another.

"As we navigate the challenges of our time, let us embrace the healing power of the arts to cultivate greater social cohesion, health equity, and community well-being. And while I have your attention—here is some wellness advice from me to you: go to a concert, a play, or an art-based community outing.

You will likely leave feeling renewed, recharged, and reconnected. Our ability to live artful lives is essential to advancing our full humanity and our health and wellness as a nation. Maria Rosario Jackson, Ph.D. is chair of the Nationa Endowment of the Arts (NEA)

I want to acknowledge the United States Department of Defense, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs,  the National Organization for Arts in Health, The National Endowment of the Arts, the National Institutes in Health, Renee Fleming, and The John F. Kennedy Center for being at the forefront of the Arts at a National level. I look forward to your continued research and collaboration with those in the arts and beyond.
